Can we live on Mars?
19 Mar 6:30 pm|
Ever since Curiosity landed on Mars in 2016, expectations for further exploration of the planet have been on the rise. There is a renewed interest in the conquest of outer space, and although many architects and designers have long been fascinated by the possibilities of life outside earth, only a handful of them have actively been engaged in projects for the outer space.
Among them is Jorge Mañes Rubio, artist in-residence in the European Spatial Agency and designer of the moon temple. He will be a part of the panel, joined by Irene Gallou, Head of the specialist Modelling Group at Foster+Partners, Rachel Armstrong, professor of Experimental Architecture, and Victor Buchli, professor of Material Culture. The four of them will participate in the discussion, exploring how space technology is no longer exclusive to government agencies, not only expanding the possibilities of private entities but also extending frontiers beyond the moon and approaching a debate both technical and ethical.
