Women on Film
14 Feb - 16 Feb|
Glasgow and Edinburgh|
What is the female side of the story? This question becomes the starting point for the three-date event organized by CinemaAttic: Mujeres, Women on Film. Gender becomes the focus point for the panels and screenings taking place in Glasgow and Edinburgh between 14 February and 16 February.
The panels will be discussing a number of practical concerns as well as addressing broader notions of representation in film, including: public programmes towards gender parity, funding available for female filmmakers, how producers and directors face the current fight for gender equality in film industry, overcoming the so called female gaze and what it means in 2018.
On the other hand, screenings will all include the so called F-Rating: a new stamp applied to all films which are directed by women and/or written by women, giving audiences an easily identifiable label so they can choose films that fairly represent women.
