New Spanish Playwriting – La Golondrina

18 Sep – 14 Oct | Cervantes Theatre | London

Ramón comes to Amelia’s house to ask her to be her singing teacher and help him prepare a special song for his mother’s funeral. During the evening, among breathing exercises and confessions, they come to realise what Dani was for each of them and how his loss in a terrorist attack simultaneously separates and unites them. Both the Orlando attack and the terrorist attacks that have recently occurred throughout Europe strongly resonate in the play, making the personal to go hand in hand with the social.

Part of The Cervantes Theatre’s New Spanish Writing, brought by the Spanish Theatre Company with the support of Acción Cultural Española (AC/E).
