12 Dec 5:45 pm - 8:30 pm|
Building Centre, London, 26 Store St, Fitzrovia, London WC1E 7BT|
Major advances in ceramics engineering and craftsmanship have opened new routes for innovation, triggering the re-emergence of ceramics as a sensory and culturally inspiring material in architecture. The Building Centre celebrates the resurgence of ceramics in contemporary architecture, bringing together the designers, artists, manufacturers and ceramicists working on ground-breaking projects in this versatile material.
Ceramic Narratives in Architectural Practice, Research and Education Symposium will present innovative trends in contemporary architectural ceramics production, with a major focus on the Spanish ceramic tile sector, by bringing together some of the most prominent international minds connected to ceramic design and production. The exhibition explores a close connection between hand-held ceramic objects and large-scale urban interventions.
As part of this exhibition the University of Liverpool, alongside ASCER, will organize a symposium to further explore the relationship between ceramics and architecture. This evening symposium intends to spark a discussion around the multiple attributes of ceramics as a versatile and tactile architectural material.
The event is free to attend but booking is essential.
