Don’t miss (Dis) continued, an exercise in exploration, documentation and representation of the soundscape of the City of London after the impact of the pandemic crisis in which we still find ourselves.
In this exhibition Daniel Solomons analyses, through the socio-urban context of the global city, the implications within the sound space as a result of the different measures, anxieties and sensitivities that we are experiencing in this complex battle to defeat Covid-19. The economic slowdown, the interruption of activities, the rules of social interconnection subject to physical distancing, the different movement and connectivity of masses within the city, the new physical borders or the alternatives of a new mobility directly affect the soundscape, altering sounds archetypal and symbolic of the city and producing, therefore, changes in the sound identity of the place.
The exhibition is an observation system that, through sound, presents us with a vision of the city, dislocated and dystopian, where our path to the future will depend on our ability to adapt, our responsibility and diagnosis of the present and in which right now, there are more questions than answers.
