The Tetley



These Books were Alive; they spoke to me! is an exhibition of printed matter and performance works by artist Dora García. García’s show provides a retrospective look at her career-long production of book editions, book sculptures, and other printed matter, and the ongoing connection within her practice to the broader tropes of popular literature, theatre and film.

Join artist Dora García and the Leeds’ Finnegans Wake Reading Group for a collective reading of James Joyce’s classic. Please email reception@thetetley.org to reserve a place. No special skills needed other than a love for this text. If you need to borrow a copy of the text, please let our reception team know in advance.

Responding to Dora García’s exhibition of performance and books, artist David Steans presents and evening of new art works inspired by the controversial 1990′s publishing press Crime World.
