Eduardo Niebla 2019 tour
2 Feb - 9 Mar|
Eduardo Niebla, flamenco jazz guitar virtuoso and composer, has been trailblazing his exhilarating flamenco jazz fusion for over 40 years, collaborating with George Michael, Craig David and Juno Reactor, as well as many of the top world music, jazz and classical artists today.
On 18 January 2019, accompanied by guitarist Matthew Robinson, Eduardo starts a seven date UK tour at Dorchester Arts Centre, followed by appearances at: St. George’s Bristol (Sat 2 Feb), Coronation Hall Ulverston (Fri 8 Feb), Helmsley Arts Centre (Sat 9 Feb), Long Newton Music Co. Durham (Sun 10 Feb), Stage 4 Beverley Festival (Fri 15 Feb) and Norwich Playhouse (Fri 15 Mar). The tour features 12 compositions from Eduardo’s extensive 40 years of repertoire, including previews of his upcoming release “Las Olas de Niebla”.
The programme is a snapshot Eduardo’s international life; a passionate journey from his early years in Morocco, to his impoverished roots in Spain and his discovery of jazz and the freedom of improvisation. Pieces such as “Calle de la Tina” vividly evoke the life of Granada, “Rosie” the influence of Arabic culture, “My Gypsy Waltz” his dedication to gypsies, whilst the Django Reinhardt inspired “I Can Fly Now” says it all.
