Journeys Throught the Labyrinth an Iberoamerican Classical Music podcast series: Fandango Folly
29 Aug - 30 Sep|
The Iberian and Latin American Society of Music, ILAMS, in collaboration with the Instituto Cervantes branches in the United Kingdom present this podcast series, curated and chaired by the renowned music critic Ray Picot. On a monthly basis, it will offer us a unique opportunity to celebrate to the most notable composers and performers of our shared musical geography and to make known those less frequented in concert halls and on recordings.
Fandango Folly is an exploration of the transformation of the famous work of Padre Soler (1729-1783) Fandango in the hands of modern composers and musicians. Quoting the harpsichordist Diego Ares, “…it is clear (from listening to this podcast) that this Fandango no longer belongs exclusively to Soler, nor to any performer, but that everyone who approaches this work contributes to its continued life”
