Spanish Piano Music Project at the King’s College School

To open the music department’s 2019 Spanish piano project entitled Viva España, Jordi Masó, one of Spain’s most respected concert pianists, will visit the King’s College School to give a recital of some of the most beautiful music from Spain, as well as a masterclass to King’s pianists on Sunday 10th February from 10.00 till 17.00.
On the installment of this three-part series, Jordi Masó will present selected pieces that he has masterfully dominated throughout the years. All of the pieces can be found in his extensive collection of CD’s recorded throughout the years to explore the wonders of Spanish piano music. The recital will last approximately 100 minutes including an interval, when refreshments will be available in the music school foyer.
The day after the recital, Jordi Masó will be teaching a masterclass to the 20 pianist involved in the King’s College School piano project. Works by Soler, Albeiz, de Falla, Granados, Turina and Mompou will be included in this class that will be performing the eclectic music of this various artists on the third installment of the Viva España series, on 27th of February.
