The success of today’s Spanish short-films in the international circuit can’t be fully understood without pioneer initiatives like Kimuak. The relevance of the programme led by Txema Muñoz since 1998 deserves a much needed exercise of audiovisual historical justice. Since 1998, the public funded agency Kimuak selects and distributes internationally the best sprouts from Basque short-filmmakers. The programme includes retrospectives into cult and rare classics, contemporary award winning films plus Industry events, talks and educational opportunities.

Directors Attending: Directors like Asier Altuna and Isabel Herguera are attending and will give special talks at Edinburgh College of Art. Two unique opportunities to know a bit more about two of the most originals filmmakers not just in Basque Country but in the whole of Spain.Txema Munoz, director of the program Kimuak will also attend and contextualise how the made it in a special talk.
