During 9 & 10 November this Three-Day Conference Scholars from England, USA, Italy, Spain and Turkey will discuss the origin and influences of the literary movement of Neoplatonism.

The Spanish scholar, Dr David Hernández de la Fuente, from the Spanish Open University, will contribute with a lecture titled “Neoplatonism and Poetics in Late Antique and Byzantine Literature”, on Friday 10th November at 9.45am.

Dr Claudio Rodríguez Fer from the University of Santiago de Compostelawill present “La erótica del infinito: Neoplatismo, Cábala y Sufismo en la obra de José Ángel Valente” on Saturday 11th November at 12:35pm.

Dr Colin Thompson from Oxford University will talk about “The Ascent of the Soul: Neo-Platonic Themes in the Literature of the Golden Age of Spain”, which will take place on Thursday 9th November at 16.15h.

The Conference will finish with a concert “Songs of Songs”: Poetic triptych with voices, songs and music based on texts in Hebrew, Castilian and Persian, performed by Leili Anvar, Fréderic Ferney, Renaud García-Fons and Solea García-Fons.
