Science in Spain 2017

Would you like to learn about research jobs opportunities in Spain? Are you a scientist in the UK who is considering moving abroad? Would you like to do your PhD, your postdoc or your tenure-track in any of the top research centres in Spain?

Science in Spain 2017 – Research Jobs Opportunities” is an informative event about funding opportunities and institutional support for scientists to move to Spain to carry out their research, as well as an opportunity for different Spanish research centres to showcase their activity and current job opportunities.

For the last 30 years, Science has thrived in Spain leading the country to achieve the following milestones:

  • 10th country in number of academic publications, publishing the 3,5% of global number of publications
  • 2nd net receiver of H2020 funds from all EU members, only behind the UK
  • 200,232 staff devoted to Research and Development (R&D) in Spain, 122,235 of which are researchers
  • 33 worldwide competitive research institutions recognised with the awards Severo Ochoa Research Centre of Excellence or María de Maeztu Research Unit of Excellence
  • Spain has a network of unique world class research facilities (Infraestructuras Científicas y Técnicas Singulares, ICTS)
  • 50 public and 33 private universities across all regions (Comunidades Autónomas)
